I mapped my entire yard as one area with the intent of testing it and then splitting it up using the map edit function. I’ve successfully mowed the entire area a couple of times. Today I used the map edit function to try and split off the ‘front yard’. Now if I try and mow the front yard I get the WP005 Failed to Calculate Route error.
I split the yard using the ‘draw a line’ method rather than the drive yarbo around method. Is there a way to undo that and get back to where I was, or am I spending today remapping my yard?

To be on safe side I usually perform Map Backup before modifications: Settings → Previous Map → Save Current Map and if something unexpected happens during map edit I click Restore button on the right top corner on the same screen.
I agree with @Don-Yarbo you probably just need a pathway to connect the areas together. Yarbo won’t cross a boundary without a pathway to tell it where it is safe to cross, even if the boundaries touch or overlap.
Thanks Don, the pathway solved the WP005 issue. I am still curious if I can undo the edit. Since it was added via software, I’d think it would be simple to undo via software as well? (I’m not a software guy).
I suppose a work-around would be to save the map before doing an edit, try it out, and revert to the saved map if isnt working right? But an undo button shouldn’t be that big of an ask, is it?
So there’s no ‘just trying this out’ map edits? It would be really nice to be able to just map the perimeter of a large area, and then be able to optimize/customize by trying different edits.
Also, trying to draw the lines in the right spot on my phone is challenging. Any progress on a desktop app?
There is still a lot of work to be done on map editing. The split feature without driving is brand new. I hope they continue to iterate small quality of life improvements but I would very much appreciate some stability and turf damage updates in lieu of feature updates.
I highly doubt they produce a desktop app unless they just port the app to Windows. However, with the API, HA integration, and Open Platform, users could do this themselves.
Understood. Even the ability to merge areas back together would be a huge improvement though. Then you could split an area, test it and recombine it if it isnt working out. Im sure it will get there, I have faith.
