My wife ordered a Yabo Pro mower as my Fathers Day / Birthday present (June 22nd bday let’s her get off easy).
It looks like there are 2 main requirements for the Yarbo data center.
- Clear view of the sky
- Ethernet to the network
In regards to #1 I’m planning on mounting the data center on top of my barn so itll be 30’ in the open air. There will be times when the Yarbo Core wont have direct line of sight to the data center. Yarbo says that’s OK as its using a stable sub 1G frequency. In the real world how has everyone’s experience been? I have a large 6 acre property where the farthest grass will be 650ft from the data center.
In regards to #2 I have a robust Asus mesh network setup that reaches the entire property (except the back 50 feet of our horse field). If I plug the data center ethernet into one of the mesh routers will that be ok? The mesh router is not the main router of the system but does have a dedicated 6GhZ backhand to the main router (i.e. Plenty of bandwidth).
Any real world experience on these points would be appreciated.
You don’t think they’ll be an issue with part of the mowing area being 650ft away? I guess if it can cut over to cellular there should be a good connection at that end of the property.
I’ve been meaning to install WiFi on the back field, the horses have been complaining about the lack of internet for awhile
In theory with a completely unobstructed view of the property HaLow can cover up to 31 acres. That decreases somewhat with obstructions. I think it should cover your 6 acres being that high up.
I think I’ll be good with my strategy, but going to throw a picture up here to be 100% sure.
The attached pic shows my property outlined in blue. As you can see it’s unobstructed and pretty much flat across the 6 acres. I have the option of putting the data center at the red square (on my barn 30’ up) or at the yellow square (on the pavilion of the back patio, slightly more centralized).
Both options have gig speed internet accessible. I like the height of the barn install, but the pavilion might be easier as it’s only 15’ tall and still has readily accessible internet.
Thoughts?
How is the view of the sky at the top of the pavilion? Does the roof of the building obstruct the view at all? If not, then it should be fine. For HaLow, the higher you can go, the better. Kind of get up and over things and also let it drop into hills some. Not that you have that issue. Keep in mind you want 120 degree clear view of the sky in the shape of cone with the point at the center of the DC RTK antenna expanding upwards. If you nail that, you’ll be golden. These are ideal conditions for Yarbo. Should work very well.
I believe the right side of that pavilion will offer substantially more than 120 degrees. The house is taller than the pavilion, but it’s close enough it doesn’t obstruct a view of the sky.
If the wife is ok with the data center on that pavilion, I may take the easy route; otherwise it’ll be the barn.
On a different subject, that is quite the Yarbo in your avatar. Is that AI generated or do you have the next gen Optimus Prime Yarbo?
The halo connection can do that, no sweat, mine goes 1000 ft easy
Yes that is AI generated. It’s what Microsoft’s AI thought a Yarbo was a couple of years ago.
