Cutting Height Motor Drive Issue

Guards are on. Disk would be toast without them. On the drive to the work area disk started at 4, instead of going to 2.7. it went till it hit the ground at faulted. Sliding on the blade gards. Not Shure if it is a hardware or software issue.

Will update when I get a fix.

Thanks

I am having the same concerns. I am trying a completely remote area(s) resetting and a restart WITHIN the area to be cut. Been at it for 30 minutes … No blade adjustment yet.

Are you seeing an error message where Yarbo is stuck adjusting the blade height? If so, try setting your module clearance level to low vs medium or high and see if that helps resolve the issue.

Shipping a new one.

Will be glad to get back up and mowing. Takes 4 hour to mow by hand so been enjoying the mower.

I have the same issue as AD. Have rebooted, have cleaned, have removed battery. What now? My grass is well over 4" now.

You have the cutting height motor drive issue error? Have you lowered the blades all the way down, made sure that there is nothing stuck up in and behind the discs? Have you tried removing the blade guards and blade guard bracket? Grass tends to build up on top of that.

Yes, my situation appears to be just the same as AD. I have not removed the blade guards. They have been cleaned up.

What’s a “ticket”?

with Yarbo support. You can open one in the app by going to your profile at the top right when you first open it and then clicking on support center. Or you can email support@yarbo.com or you can go to support.yarbo.com and open one there. All accomplish the same thing.

I have had this recurring issue as well.

It has always been caused by debris that wrapped itself around the motor spindle and jammed into the height adjust piston assembly.

The way I solved it is as follows.

Remove the blade discs.

Remove the 10mm nut holding the blade disc motor mount and remove the disc mount.

Inspect the motor shaft. Every time I have removed the disc mount I have found an enormous amount of grass and debris wrapped around the motor output shaft. Remove this debris.

Inspect the motor shaft again. Most of the time debris has also worked its way into the spindle shaft as well. Sometimes I have been able to pull it out. Other times I have had to use a dental pick and compressed air to get individual blades of grass unstuck.

Remove the blade guards and spindle mount top plate. On my unit every single bolt was unseated. The blue Locktite simulant goo they use is too thick. So the bolts feel tight when they are not seated.

This allowed debris to accumulate unter the top spindle/blade guard mount. Clean all of that out as well. Again, compressed air and dental picks are your friend.

Inspect the height adjustment plunger assembly. Here too, debris works its way past the rubber seal and jams the assembly. I again have had to use compressed air combined with dental picks to maneuver the seal and remove the debris.

Reassemble the same way it came apart making sure the bolts are all actually seated. And don’t simply feel tight because of the copious amounts of blue goo used on the bolts.

After reassembly move the height adjust full up to full down 10-15 times to work out any additional debris.

Cross you fingers you got enough debris out this time and the overcurrent error is solved and.does not repeat after clearing errors in the app.

If the overcurrent persists, take it all apart again, use more air and dental picks. Rinse repeat until it functions.

I also suggest leaving the metal blade guards off. They do nothing but cause additional problems and provide no protection to the blades or discs.

And double and triple check the 10mm nylock holding the disc mount biscuit is tight. If this nut is not tight and seated properly, the discs wobble and cause motor overheating problems and or shatter when they hit the blade guards (if you reinstalled them).

This has not been done yet.
Will doing something like this affect any warranty?

It might. I would wait for guidance from support.

Got my replacement mower. Seems to be working so far.

Was (is) there any concern with your core?
I have the same problem as you. I can no longer cope with the bad lawn mower module.

NO! I will not do all that.

Morning, has anyone found a good solution to this issue? My M1 started this morning with Cutting Height Motor Drive Issues and it just continuously goes up and down, full height to min height. I did the battery pull for over 5m and I took the module off and made sure there isn’t any real blockages.

Open a ticket. I’d guess a limit switch. But its just a guess.

Ticket created, hopefully this isn’t a major delay. @Yarbo-Forum if you can provide any help with the ticket that would be great.
Thank you!
