Increases the GPS signal to Yarbo

Frequently Yarbo will stop and a message indcating that I have to move the Yarbo. This is a added worry to do this. Can a device like this be added to Yarbo to incease the signal strength? Hi there, thank you for your question!

We’re not certain whether an external device like the one you mentioned would actually improve Yarbo’s GPS signal. However, we’re excited to share that an upcoming update will introduce dead reckoning technology. This feature is designed to enhance Yarbo’s performance in areas with limited GPS coverage, helping to reduce the number of times Yarbo stops to wait for a GPS signal or asks you to move it.

We hope this update will help address the issue you’re experiencing. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Unfortunately, no. Something like this is not able to be added or will help. What will help is the release of an updated Dead Reckoning firmware which is imminent. Also, even though the message says you need to move Yarbo to an open area, you don’t. It will eventually recover on its own and resume the plan (most of the time). I typically give it 30 mins and if it hasn’t recovered and moved, then I move it out in the open. You can also reboot the rover and or the DC sometimes to help kick start it back into gear.

My problem is it stops in the wide open, when I’m not at home it stands there for hours without recovering. For me only rebooting the whole system, including the DC, does solve the problem. Doing so yarbo regains more then enough L2 satellites in the exact same spot it came to a stop.

The update is now promised for more than a month, my ticket regarding that issue was closed because the update will solve my problem…

In former threads @Yarbo-Forum was always talking about end of August, that’s now! So I guess we won’t get it until next week…

As always just promises…. They are way over their head regarding software development, and if they won’t up their game, I fear, it will break their neck…

We received the email, and the app update is available… This is quite a tease however to know an update is available but having to wait our turn! haha But my Tesla does the same… Some friends get the update before the others… We never found a pattern…

For me, unfortunately the update did not solve my problem. Yarbo still stops. Now the the message in diagnostics tool is new for me: “waitforRTK”. Never seen it before. But yarbo is standing there waiting.

Ticket center within the app is still not working for me, how hard can it be @Yarbo-Forum

I reopend my ticket #102036, where I was told that the update would fix things.

That is so odd. You are at literally zero L2 and zero Satellites.

Even in poor signal areas the rover captures something. If at least one satellite? Is it always the same area? Or it seems to be random? Because if it is not the same area and it appears at random, it is most probably a hardware issue…

When the problem is poor coverage, it is mostly in the same areas and you get something. Maybe not enough for the rover to start but you never get to zero of everything….

sorry if we asked before, but did you change the antennas?

Yes I changed the antennas, as alway yarbo support tells me everything is fine.

The place it stops is random. I don’t really see a pattern.

I also think it is a hardware issue, but what should I do, when they tell me everything is fine on their side…

… and it is when I restart the whole system including cutting the power to the DC by unplugging it from my unifi switch.

After restart I have perfect connection with more than 17 L2 satellites, then I can continue for a random amount of time (around half an hour)

Hi there,

Thank you for your feedback. You can refer to Section 1 of the passage to adjust the PPVS settings, which allows Yarbo to travel a certain distance even when GPS signal is weak: Firmware V 3.10.0 &App 3.16.0 Update Highlights
This is what we meant by the update helping to improve the situation. If you try this adjustment and find it doesn’t work for you, please let us know what changes you made and the results in your support ticket. We’ll be glad to further investigate into the issue.

Regarding the support center issue, we’ll need a bit more information to continue troubleshooting (as we’ve already optimized this feature once). Could you please provide a screenshot of the interface after you click on Support Center, along with the type of mobile phone you are using? I will pass this information to our app team for further investigation.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Hi there,

We’d like to confirm whether this is related to a hardware issue, but we’ll need your cooperation for further investigation. Since the docking station’s current location doesn’t provide ideal GPS reception, we aren’t able to collect effective data while the machine is there.

Could you please fully charge your Yarbo and then drive it to an open area with a clear view of the sky and no nearby obstructions? Once you’ve done this, kindly update us through your support ticket (or let me know here in the forum and I’ll pass the information to the relevant team). We can then carry out a more accurate analysis to identify the root cause.

Thank you very much for your cooperation.

Thank you for your reply.

I don’t know where you get that yarbo has a weak signal on the Charging pad.

But I of course am interested in finaly resolving my problems,so I moved yarbo out in the open. And activated issue recording.

Is the data center connection 3 all the time or does it switch to 2 as well.

Have you tried restarting JUST the core or JUST the DC to see if it recovers? It might help narrow things down.

Your heading dop is extremely high. 2 is unusable. It should ideally be less than 1. It’s not recommended to correct map drift as an example unless it’s below 1.4.

There is a big solar storm going on right now too, so maybe that’s a factor here in this screenshot at this point in time.

It is switching continously.

Yes to now avail.

Yes but I can’t do nothing against that.

This exact problem exist since June so the solar storm is unlikely.
