Lights on while on the docking station and new charging pattern

@Yarbo-Forum can someone check mine. Support told me to turn off the “Auto Light” feature. They are missing the point completely.

Last night the headlights turned back on at like 1am and the neighbor complained as they were on all night.

I also pointed out to support that the headlights being on a causing the battery to drain 5% per 2 hours and that is causing wear and tear on my battery (and wasting electricity) as the Yarbo has to re-charge every 2 hours.

We really need a hotfix for this @Yarbo-Forum

Are you using the home assistant integration? If so, make sure it’s not set to working mode. That will keep it awake instead of letting it go to sleep.

it is set to working- do I have to manually change this?? it hasn’t run a plan in a week so I would expect it to go back to standby?

Yes, manually set it to sleep. This is HA forcing it to stay awake. If you set to sleep (or another status if it exists), it should only be awake when you open the app or it is running a scheduled plan.

If the HA integration exposes some kind of docking status, we could automate it so the lights stay off while the device is docked. Right now, it seems the “working state” switches to “working” instead of “standby” when it’s on the docking/charging pad.

Hi there, as Bryan mentioned, this behavior may be caused by Home Assistant keeping the unit in a “working” state, which prevents it from going into sleep mode normally.

Please feel free to keep us updated after changing the status. We’d be happy to hear whether that helps resolve the issue.

It seemed to work last night. Is this a bug that will get fixed or will we always need to manually set back to standby?

I am not running Yarbo’s official HA integration so I can’t really speak to how that works. Maybe @Tom.C @rcguymike can. But I believe it should stay set to standby in HA. It should go into working mode automatically when the app is opened or it is actively running a plan.

I did set up an automation when “Recharging Status changes from any state to Charging” set “Change Working State” to standby

This works because “Recharging Status” is set to “Charging” if Yarbo is on the dock and is told to recharge, even during battery management times. If you use the “Charging” entity as your trigger, it will turn on and off with the charging cycle.

Interesting, mines spent most of the last few weeks powered down. I did have to create a 15 minute periodic timer to push the update data button, when it’s in standby mode, otherwise it can go days without updating HA.
