It’s an overloaded icon and I’ve asked Yarbo repeatedly to break it out. There is RTK, RTCM, and GPS. If you snapped that diagnostics screenshot directly after the data center diagnostic then it’s normal for your data latency to be that high as when the DC is in survey mode it takes up to 30-45 seconds to fully recover. Your L2 satellites are a bit low. That could be your issue. Total satellites really doesn’t matter. L2 is the important one to pay attention to. Ideally you want 15 but need at least 10. Anything else is a roll of the dice whether or not the DC and the rover are seeing enough of the same satellites. Your DC CNR’s are bad too. Needs to be higher than 37 to be usable. Also the reason why. Power down everything for 5 mins and see if that helps. If not, it may just take time but make sure something physically didn’t change at the DC.
Your Data Latency is high not 1 or Stable.
The effects of data latency on GPS stability is big.
Data latency, the delay between acquiring and receiving GPS data, can significantly impact the stability of GPS measurements and the accuracy of calculated positions. When a GPS receiver is in motion, data latency means that the displayed position will be behind the actual position. The distance of this lag depends on the speed of travel and the duration of the latency. So let’s say if a vehicle travels at 60 miles per hour (88 feet per second) and the GPS unit updates once per second with a latency of 0.25 seconds, the displayed position will be 110 feet behind the actual position.
So the reduced accuracy in time-sensitive applications. So for applications requiring high positional accuracy and real-time positioning, such as autonomous vehicles, even small delays can be critical. Thanks @bryan.wheeler
I did mention Yarbo was just hanging out on the charging pad. If Yarbo is doing 60 someone stole him.
So the DC enters survey mode when you open DC diagnostics?
I may be shooting myself in the foot…
Yessir. Go outside and watch the light. It turns yellow. I actually do this sometimes when I am home to kick a loss of GPS in the butt. Sometimes for 20-30 seconds in survey mode is enough to get it going again.
@yarbo-forum Well another week in the books. No fixes, no more emails saying we tried this, did it help? We’re at the weekend so nothing more for 2-3 days. Wow, if we could just get the patch/Bug fix to work again. Cutting the grass with this unit would be awesome. Middle of July now. How many more weeks/Months before we get something resolved? Or do I need to take time off from my job to meet with someone to talk about all the things we’ve covered here multiple times. It didn’t help. The only thing that did was the remote fix they did. But after the update, it stopped.Even though I was told that update had nothing to do with whatever they think I’ve got going on. Hopefully everyone has a better week, and weekend than me. But I hope things get better soon.
@Yarbo-Forum, any assistance for this soul. It seems the group is out of suggestions.
Radio Silence MAY mean they have found something and are working on a fix.
It ALSO MAY NOT mean that.
Either way, it’s a bad look.
My Yarbo is also sitting on the charging pad since the last update. Sometimes sees 1-10 satellites for 5 seconds and that’s it. I think it’s now 2 weeks or so already. Support was silent for some days and when I wrote them an email asking what’s the latest and maybe you can roll back the last working firmware to definitely rule out hardware problem. I simply cot a reply that the technicians are looking into this and they are sorry plus appreciate that I’m patient. My patients is really running low to be honest.
I do have seen the Yarbo-forum replies that in their view it’s not the firmware problem. I’m sceptical to say the least about this considering how many GPS issues are posted here on this forum right after last firmware was rolled out…
@Yarbo-Forum Well another weekend came and went. Still waiting to mow the yard. No changes as of yet. @cobradunn Yes it is “Either way, it’s a bad look.” Maybe one day I’ll get back to it.Or the grass will stop growing.
@marco would you be able to look into @dandbstephens ticket?
Did you try to change the RTK antennas on the rover? They are cheap. Had similar issues until I found that one antenna was faulty despite no visible damage.
I have 4 sets of them. Nothing helped. Yarbo sits still in one place like garden gnome.
Tomorrow I will have a video call with the technician. Let’s see what magic they have. I’m hopeful. If nothing helps there are always a solution to send me 3’rd 2024 model core…
Ticket #91428 has been escalated, and our R&D team has applied a fix for the reported issue.
Could you please check your Yarbo now and let us know if the problem still persists?
Can you share anything high level about what the “fix” is.
@marco @Yarbo-Forum
All the following have been done this morning. Nothing has changed.
Put Yarbo on the charger and start charging.
Shutdown Yarbo
Remove power from the Data Center.
Remove power from your internet connection device.
Re-power your internet connection device. This reboots every night @03:00 now.
Wait for the internet to come back to life.
Power up the Data Center.
Wait a minute.
Start up Yarbo.
Ready to work, try again, and again. Same latency is still climbing, thus GPS is intermittent. :expressionless_face:
Ticket #91428
But I did get this this morning. but this has been checked too. A month ago I’m thinking.
Check the filter settings:
I’ve checked IP Filter to view blocked IP addresses. None are listed.
I’ve checked Domain Filter None are listed.
I’ve checked MAC Filter None are listed.
So none are blacklisted as they Support thought might be the problem last time. We checked, and again. All are in my router, I have them labeled for quick reference.
Are you using starlink or some other type of wireless internet? Have you tried getting a cheap $20 home router and connecting it to your current home router and out the data center behind it?
@Yarbo-Forum @marco @cobradunn No I could try that I guess I’ll have to get one. They just emailed me back I saw. Whatever they’re doing is working. It’s stable. Local Server 1, RTK L2 is 18 Status 4, Adjust 0, Heading 1, H Drop 1 or below, Sats 28, Latency 1, HaLow -52,
So if they’re finding, and fixing the issue remote. It’s not on my end. Everything is normal now. Just like last time.
Congrats I have GPS again.
Would be good to know what they did…
