New Shelter

Day before the big storm I felt bad he didn’t have a roof over his head.

So here’s before and after.

Wow! That’s a lotta snow!!

We got hit hard in Southeastern Massachusetts.

That is awesome! Can you provide a link on where you got this one and size, etc?

Bought if off Amazon. 4’x4’x3’ dog shade shelter. $59.00

First attempt of a shelter.

Great idea! Yarbo says “Thank you”.

I think having a shelter is a very good idea. Smart to protect our expensive robots.

I have been using an Amazon dog shelter for mine, but plan to build something permanent in late spring.

I may need to do this, birds seem to have found my new location and don’t like it.

Poor Yarbo! I’d be worried about the acidic bird poop damaging Yarbo’s paint over time.

I don’t think my Amazon dog shelter would work when the Trimmer is attached. I think the shelter’s opening might not be wide enough, but I don’t have my trimmer yet so I can’t say for sure.

I’m at our cabin at the moment but when I get back I’ll clean it off. It does have a paint protection product applied so hopefully it will clean off without issue and I’ll reapply to keep it in good shape.

You sure it was the birds and not a disgruntled or jealous neighbor? :joy:

You know, there is a teenager that I think would love to if we didn’t have the cameras we have.

Bird poop, constant direct sunlight and towering snow is why I built the shelter. Will either revise to make sloping so snow slides off or considering making a polycarbonate roof with Wi-Fi enabled actuator to open remotely so the snow slides off.

When I build my Yarbo’s permanent shelter next month, the plan is to go with a poly roof. Its RTK antennas aren’t sensitive enough for anything more than that.

Meanwhile, this is what I built for one of my Luba 2 bots. The shingled roof doesn’t disrupt its RTK at all.

Geeeez, that mower lives a bougie life, love it!

With Ken’s comment that the Y series, in its current state, won’t get Lidar it does stink that won’t really be a viable option for Y series owners.

With the poly roof, it will be interesting to see how well it does.

Where did he say that?

He said in the last livestream that they can’t retrofit LiDAR to the existing Y robots.

Yup, in the live stream.

That said, we know the “Y Pro Series” has been prototyped and shown to the public. And that robot DID have LiDAR on top…

Looks like I’ll be selling my Y to my sister at the Pro announcement , she just doesn’t know it yet.
