Replacement core won't recognize charging station and significant GPS displacement

As a sign of my continued desperation, I went ahead and move the battery and all the antennas and the mowing deck back to the old core in the hopes of being able to at least mow and manually recharge. Unfortunately, it seems as a result of all of my tinkering around and possibly changing the data center. It now has its own map drift issue, which of course I cannot correct so I’m back to being stuck again as the grass grows around me.

In the screenshot, it is actually sitting on top of the useless data center but thinks it’s a few feet away.

I think you mean docking station? Looks like a virtual dock too, and you cannot correct for map drift with that anyways.

Yes, I did mean docking station. And I know that I can’t correct with that, I was just showing you that even though I tried to fall back to the core that at least would connect, I no longer can use that core to mow (unless I want to re-map again) because it too has drifted.

In short I have a “new” core that won’t connect at all, and an “old” core that will connect to the controller and network, but still won’t dock so I can’t use my maps.

@Yarbo-Forum I have gotten a message to return my old core (#7), because I have received another (#8). However, #8 arrived damaged and will not connect. #7 will at least connect (just not to the dock). Which core should I ship back?

You need to talk to support about this. Maybe there are parts you can swap between them if they find out what is wrong with the new one.

I’ve got my ticket still opened but no response on this latest set of issues.

You’ve got a good point B-Mod, I think I’ll hold off shipping either until I hear back and get some guidance.

We’re really sorry to hear about the issues you’ve encountered with the replacement Core. We understand how frustrating it must be, especially after going through multiple troubleshooting steps and replacements.

This case requires further investigation from our support team. I’ve already asked them to review your case as soon as possible and follow up with you regarding the next steps.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Thank you. I will wait to schedule the return shipment of a core until I hear from them as to which one I should ship.

Status update: I have a live MS-Teams call tomorrow at 4:30am with an FSE to work through the issues, including what to do about the physical damage that occurred in delivery. With any luck, we will be able to figure out how to make Core #7 connect to the dock and become operational, and then I can just return the physically damaged Core #8. Hopefully, by this time tomorrow I will at least know what is next, or ideally have an operational Yarbo!

Good luck! Hope it works out for you. The newer bumpers are bolted on. If both cores have this, you could swap them. Might solve that issue for you easily.

Status update: Had an early morning Teams meeting with the FSE. Unfortunately it has been determined that we need to swap out Cores again. So I will be sending back number seven and number eight and they will be sending me number nine.

Although I admit that it’s frustrating to go so long, I have to admire the tenacity and commitment Yarbo showing in trying to get my system operational.

I have a replacement on the way, only #2 I hope I get a good one. The email they sent me with my tracking information states they are upping the quality checks and condition checks.

I was really hoping they could have made at least one of the 2 cores you have work.

I was surprised how fast they are at shipping a new core. I hope the get you another one asap and get you back up mowing quickly!

Thanks B-mod. I hope both of our replacement cores Get ‘R Done!

You’re up to Core #9?? That’s gotta be the record!!

I’m sure this has been a rather frustrating experience. Hopefully this will be the last core they need to ship you.

Yes. I’m sure no one (including me) would want it to be this way, but I’m glad that they are as persistent as I am to getting it working again.

Despite all the problems, they will always make it right. They may not move as quickly as people would like, but in the end, I’ve never seen them stop trying to make it right and resolve any issues.

I don’t mean to hijack your thread but I am having the exact same issue. Replacement core (#3 for me) won’t charge when placed on the dock, and there is a map drift that cannot be corrected since the core can’t detect the dock. Already tried reinstalling DC and dock but cannot complete the dock installation since the core does not detect it.

I want to jump in because if it turns out that Yarbo is sending out refurbished units without testing their ability to dock, the refurbishing process seriously needs to be improved.

Just like you I have been waiting to have FSE look at my replacement unit, which has been connected and charging using the wired AC Adapter for 3 days and they claimed that they cannot access its logs because it is supposedly offline. That is incompetence since the replacement has been online for 3 days now. I suspect they just tried to connect to the defective Yarbo which is boxed in and ready to be sent back.

My dock is working fine with a blue LED, and has been working for months and months.

Does anybody know if the sensors responsible for detecting the correct alignment on the dock can be reset in software? I believe it is a magnetic mechanism. Or are we looking at yet another replacement to be shipped in a week?

Not a good publicity with our neighbors who are wondering why we paid over $5k for this gadget that keeps failing and no local tech support to get the equipment repaired. And when a refurbished replacement shows up, it has not been 100% checked :face_with_steam_from_nose:

There is nothing that can be reset in the dock that I am aware of, at least from a user perspective. It could be the sensors, the charging coil(s) itself, or bluetooth. Can you start the charging process on the dock manually through the app if the core is manually lined up properly?

I would also confirm in your ticket that they are connecting to the correct serial number. If your ticket reflects the old serial, that could explain why they can’t connect.

Ok I got one too… Refurb core, transferred my maps, did map drift, reinstalled dc. I have it on the charger, it charges. I went in my area I want to mow, adjuested everything how I like it. Went to path, adjusted all paths to turn off vision and ultra. Did a restart of core and DC. As soon as I go to start the area is says obstical detected and will not leave the dock, it actually backs up a bit in the end and will be hanging off the back of the dock. How can is sense an obstical when vision and ultra’s are off?

It is my existing pro mower on it.

Is the firmware up to date? Try toggling those settings back on and see if anything changes, then turn them back off and see if it changes.
