For your consideration when “following up” since some of the damaging issues related to zero turn have been officially “Gaining the Most Attention!” since before mid may.
Hello everyone,
We’ve received a lot of feature requests here on the forum, and we’ve noticed that many of you have expressed similar interests in some of the same ideas. As a result, we’d like to share updates on some most popular feature requests, including: map editing optimization (split area and straight line), tow mode, smart vision, schedule feature enhancements, route optimization and slope algorithm optimization.
Here’s an overview of the current status and upcoming plans:

@Yarbo-Forum @Allen Where is the update to fix a single one?
The threads(below) related to the damaging behavior has only grown since May as the update at the end of June made things worse.
After “hot fix” 3.8.16, Yarbo is now performing zero-turn movements even though Smart turn is enabled for both return to docking station and for the area configuration. In particular, I notice it while cutting the first pass of the perimeter.
This issue with Yarbo performing zero-turn movements in an area that is configured to not do so is quite frustrating, and doesn’t seem to be getting better. For a whiled Yarbo was performing micro adjustments, moving back and forth, to change its position,…
My 2 biggest issues with the mower are:
1- the paths connecting docking stations and areas are more and more apparent as the robot uses the over and over again.
2- the outside lines for areas are also getting incredibly noticeable specially on corners where, even with the zero-turn option enabled, the robot will do a zero-turn of the outline of areas.
Please, any help with those issues?
Please stop Yarbo from making zero-turns at the ends of pathways and deadends because it damages the turf. There’s no need for this and it forces me to constantly move these around. Let us use smart-turns in these places instead.
So with the latest update, now all dead ends begin with Yarbo zero-turning into the correct direction. Previous firmware it would smart turn. So now the lawn will have even more worn down spots. This makes dead ends no longer a viable solution to corners, etc.
Oh, be careful with your dead end configurations. Yarbo over-shoots the end of it when going down hill. (Another new bug)
May need to start thinking about selling Yarbo and moving on to a better product that is properly supported and dev…
A little thread for those who want to share advices on how they get the best results from their mower. I’m quite satisfied with the results I get, but I had to try several things (and destroy quite a bit of lawn) before finding a solution that works. So here are some advices:
If you can, docking station on concrete/asphalt or anything that is not grass.
If you can, have your areas overlap around the perimeter an area it can’t destroy such as an asphalt entryway, concrete pathway.
If 2) …
Something has changed for Smart Turns. When Yarbo is turning around to start a new row, it is now doing 3 separate Zero Turns (where both tracks are turning opposite ways) and driving 1-2 feet between the turns. This is destroying our lawn (the lawn is new this year) and I stopped the work plan after 10 rows once I saw the damage that is being done.
We started trying to use Yarbo in the beginning of May and have not successfully completed a work plan to date. We have relegated Yarbo to testi…
Hello Yarbo,
I’m currently seeing a patch of dead grass (or weeds!) in front of my docking station. The issue seems to be twofold:
While Yarbo is about 4’ away from the docking station, it stops and performs a zero-turn movement to align itself. This is most likely related to the consistent end point of my routes. Or perhaps it’s a programming requirement to align the mower to the docking station. However, the zero-turn maneuvers grind up the grass there. Perhaps perform one of two things? A…
My Yarbo is wearing a path in front of my charging dock. This is mainly because it makes a 180 degree zero-turn in the same spot every time it enters the dock. Then when it leaves the dock, it advances straight forward about 10’ and makes a zero-turn to various points on the map, again in the same spot. I tried changing my pathway into the dock, but it still makes these turns in the same spots. Possible solutions to this are:
Add the option to select 3-point turns instead of zero-turns whe…
Hi Allen,
First, thank you for creating a product that saves me from mowing 2-3 times per week, each taking 2+ hours. I’m grateful for that, and I’m still actively using my Yarbo.
I pre-ordered the 2024 Yarbo 4-in-1 over a year ago when it was first announced, trusting in the promised features and capabilities. While I understood I was taking an early-adopter risk, many of the core features that were marketed still aren’t working reliably after all this time.
My specific questions:
• Vision …
After owning and using Yarbo for two months, I decided to move on. Below are several reasons why this love affair ended.
Customer Support Challenges
Ineffective Level 1 Support
Level 1 support is incapable of resolving issues—every problem is “escalated” to the technical team.
Slow Response Times
Responses are very slow and often require multiple follow-ups. Since the support team is based in China, East Coast U.S. support is practically nonexistent.
No Re…
Yarbo, I know you think you’re trying to address questions during your live streams, but please stop being so defensive, and trying to explain away the shortcomings of Yarbo. Watching a round table and hearing that this is “new technology” and “be patient” shows just how much you are missing the point. Let me make it clear for you:
Stop advertising as if Yarbo does something when it doesn’t. It is deceiving.this is why people are frustrated about the current state of the software. You buy exp…
Hi there,
Sorry to hear about the lawn tearing issue.
Yes, as some of our community members have shared, you can try drawing multiple deadends can help handle narrow areas. Please note that the machine may still perform a zero-turn before entering a deadend.
Additionally, as mentioned in Micke’s thread, you might want to try using the spiral pattern, which may help reduce damage in tighter spaces.
